Mayor's Reply
The following letter was sent by Mayor Luke Ravenstahl on July 6, 2010.
The University of Pittsburgh administrators, unfortunately, received
permission for their dormitory expansion plans on Oakland Avenue and
they have begun further expansion on that street. Incredibly, the university
administrators received approval from all city agencies without having
to provide a comprehensive Impact Statement.
Dear Carlino:
Thank you for taking the time to write to me with your concerns about
the University of Pittsburgh’s dormitory expansion plan in South
Oakland. I appreciate you taking the time to express your concerns. The
input of our neighborhoods’ residents is very important, and
is essential in making our great City of Pittsburgh an even more livable
city.
I have passed your letter onto the Department of City Planning’s
Director, Noor Ismail. I value your input and appreciate your interest
in the City of Pittsburgh.
Sincerely,
Luke Ravenstahl
Mayor, City of Pittsburgh
